Optimising your business’s Facebook page

Optimising your business’s Facebook page

Facebook is now a vital platform in just about every business’ online marketing strategy, placing an even greater importance on businesses to have an active presence on the platform.

Here are a few ways to optimise your business’s Facebook page:

Complete your business’ profile
Businesses with incomplete profiles appear unprofessional and can risk losing a customer’s trust. The ‘About’ section should include your business’ website URL, address, phone number, email, hours of operation and links to your other social platforms. Be sure to include a brief summary in the company overview and include the business’ mission and any other relevant information.

Use appropriate cover and profile photos
The cover and profile photo is the first thing Facebook users will see when they hover over your business or click onto your business page, so ensure both photos align with your overall brand. For optimal photos, ensure they are high-resolution and fit into the recommended dimensions.

Your profile photo is a good opportunity to add your logo to your page which can help users identify with your business. As your cover photo is quite large, it is a great way to promote an upcoming event or even your current marketing campaign.

Include a call-to-action
A call-to-action button is designed to make your audience respond with a desired action. Facebook allows businesses to add these options to their page, whether it is a “call now,” “sign up,” “shop now,” “contact us,” “use app,” “play game,” or “watch video” button. Call-to-action buttons are designed to help business’ reach their objectives and can boost customer acquisition.
